Southport Stars Amateur Boxing Club – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all members, parents/guardians, visitors, volunteers, and participants (“Members”) of Southport Stars Amateur Boxing Club (“the Club”). By joining, attending sessions, or participating in any Club activities, you agree to abide by these Terms.

1. Membership

  • Membership is open to individuals who complete the Club’s registration process and agree to these Terms.

  • For members under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign all registration and consent forms.

  • The Club reserves the right to refuse or terminate membership if behaviour is unsafe, inappropriate, or breaches these Terms.

2. Fees & Payments

  • Training fees, membership fees, and competition fees must be paid on time as outlined by the Club.

  • Fees are non‑refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Club committee.

  • Failure to pay fees may result in suspension from training or competitions.

3. Training & Attendance

  • Members must arrive on time, wearing appropriate training kit and protective equipment.

  • Members must follow all instructions given by coaches and staff.

  • The Club reserves the right to refuse participation if a member is unfit, injured, or behaving in a way that risks safety.

4. Code of Conduct

All Members must:

  • Treat coaches, volunteers, and other members with respect.

  • Maintain good sportsmanship at all times.

  • Avoid abusive, aggressive, or discriminatory behaviour.

  • Use equipment safely and responsibly.

  • Refrain from using drugs, alcohol, or banned substances before or during training or competitions.

Parents/guardians must:

  • Support their child in a positive manner.

  • Avoid interfering with coaching decisions.

  • Respect all staff, volunteers, and other families.

5. Safeguarding & Welfare

  • The Club is committed to providing a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults.

  • All safeguarding concerns must be reported to the Club’s Welfare Officer.

  • Members must not engage in bullying, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour.

  • Photography or video recording is only permitted with prior consent from the Club.

6. Health, Safety & Medical

  • Members must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or relevant health information.

  • Members participate at their own risk and must take responsibility for their own fitness and wellbeing.

  • The Club may require medical clearance before allowing participation.

  • In the event of injury, the Club may administer basic first aid and contact emergency services if necessary.

7. Equipment & Facilities

  • Members must use Club equipment correctly and report any damage or faults.

  • Personal equipment must be kept clean, safe, and in good condition.

  • The Club is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

8. Competitions & Events

  • Members representing the Club must behave professionally and respectfully at all times.

  • Selection for competitions is at the discretion of the coaching team.

  • Members must comply with England Boxing rules and regulations.

9. Liability

  • The Club, its coaches, and volunteers are not liable for injuries, accidents, or losses that occur during training, competitions, or events, except where required by law.

  • Boxing is a contact sport and carries inherent risks. Members participate with full understanding of these risks.

10. Data Protection

  • The Club will collect and store personal information in accordance with UK GDPR.

  • Information will only be used for Club administration, safeguarding, and communication.

  • Members may request access to their data at any time.

11. Termination of Membership

The Club may suspend or terminate membership if:

  • A Member breaches these Terms.

  • Behaviour endangers others.

  • Fees remain unpaid.

  • The Member acts in a way that damages the reputation of the Club.

Members may cancel their membership at any time by notifying the Club in writing.

12. Changes to Terms

  • The Club may update these Terms at any time.

  • Members will be notified of significant changes.

  • Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By completing registration or participating in Club activities, you confirm that:

  • You have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

  • You consent to yourself and/or your child being included in Club photos and videos used for social media and promotional purposes, unless you have opted out in writing.
